Our second pick and "TopTenREVIEWS Silver Award Winner" is WebPlus 9 from Serif. This software is an outstanding tool for creating websites. WebPlus 9 is fairly easy to use, and beginners to pros alike will enjoy the professional-looking website results. WebPlus 9 offers a wide variety of templates, sample websites and tutorials to get you started.

Even though WebPlus 9 is similar to our #1-ranked Web Easy Professional, this program has slightly fewer features and comes with a larger price tag.

Ease of Use:  

Even though you can learn to use every aspect of WebPlus without reading the help files, those that take the time to do so will likely become comfortable with the program faster.

Every tool is available from the control panel at the click of the mouse button, though you might need to get used to where each one is located. Also, some of the attributes, themes, schemes and object styles have several levels of options.

Feature Set:  

If you’re the creative type, you’ll enjoy the features that WebPlus 9 offers. You can choose preconfigured art or button shapes for your webpage, or use the freehand tool to create your own shapes and text formats to match your imagination.

WebPlus 9 has two options on the toolbar with options that can enhance the look and feel of any webpage you create. You can add filter effects to an image or text, add instant 3D effects and more.

If you don’t want to spend time creating navigation buttons, you can select the navigation/theme tool and choose from a variety of button, menu and toolbar styles instantly.

Templates:  

WebPlus 9 comes equipped with a variety of well-designed, professional-looking templates in a wide variety of categories to create a webpage in minutes. You can choose from several categories of webpage designs that are easy to edit and use.

Graphic Imaging Tools:  

WebPlus 9 has some excellent tools for working with images and graphics. Inserting images into your webpage easy, and if they still aren’t right, you can edit or apply special effects to your image, such as 3-D effects.

The cropping capabilities of WebPlus 9 are a step above those of the other website creation software programs that we reviewed. Not only can you crop an image with the standard square cropping tool, you can also select an irregular cropping tool to trim your image in a variety of shapes. This can come in handy if you need a circle, oval or another non-standard image shape.

If you’re not sure where to start when creating your website, you can view WebPlus 9’s well-designed tutorials. Start with the basics or jump right to advanced tutorials. Each tutorial includes steps and examples and walks you though the creation of a professional-looking webpage.
